Job Purpose 

Beacon Roofing Supply, a Fortune 500 Company with more than 550 locations in all 50 U.S. states and 6 Canadian provinces, is seeking a Director of E-Commerce, to assume full responsibility for the growth and development of the Beacon Pro+ Digital Suite. This includes the strategic evolution of our e-commerce platform into a $1 billion component of our core business. Key responsibilities include analyzing, reviewing, recommending and building strategic practices to the Pro+ suite. You will also have ownership of tactically implementing changes and new process that drive profitability and improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including: increasing visitors, improving conversion rates, capturing larger average order sizes and managing margin performance.

Duties and Responsibilities 

As Director of E-Commerce your responsibilities will include analyzing, reviewing, recommending and building strategic and tactical changes to Internet properties that drive business profitability by increasing visitors, improving conversion rates, capturing larger average order sizes and managing margin performance. This role will also interact directly with members of the Corporate Executive team and support their various ad hoc requests and projects. Responsibilities will include:

Collaborate with cross-functional partners to manage all aspects of the e-commerce business, including: business planning, merchandising, promotional campaigns and other online marketing, website design, customer service, and web analytics.

  •  Serve as a liaison and primary point of contact for the Pro+ and e-commerce team for cross-functional partners to evaluate, prioritize, develop, manage, implement and test e-commerce initiatives. This also includes key external partnerships.
  •  Manage the user experience of the website including site navigation, content development, checkout funnel and promotional campaigns
  •  Identify new areas of e-commerce opportunity beyond current organizational thinking. Integrate new technologies and innovations into the Pro+ platform; in order to continue to create a differentiating experience for our customers.
  •  Develop and oversee the effective planning, QA and execution of content across the websites and online marketing campaigns to ensure efficiency, accuracy and timeliness of all web content publishing
  •  Manage all aspects of web analytics related to e-commerce and communicate relevant information to team members, executive leadership and cross-functional partners
  •  Direct and continue to build a cohesive team of internal and external personnel to effectively develop e-commerce solutions
  •  Generate and implement new sales and marketing initiatives to increase e-commerce sales and profitability
  •  Provide expertise on current e-commerce industry best practices. Consult on cross-functional projects to ensure e-commerce principles are incorporated
  •  Manage the user experience of the website including site navigation, content development, checkout funnel and promotional campaigns
  •  Develop and oversee the effective planning, QA and execution of content across the websites and online marketing campaigns to ensure efficiency, accuracy and timeliness of all web content publishing
  •  Manage all aspects of web analytics related to e-commerce and communicate relevant information to team members, executive leadership and cross-functional partner
  •  Demonstrated strong business judgment and decision-making skills; ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate highest impact initiatives

Qualifications 

 
  • BS or BA degree in Marketing, Business or analytical-based field (engineering, mathematics, etc.) 5-10 years’ experience, including e-commerce. Additional sales and marketing experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in e-commerce best practices that result in customer acquisition, retention and growth
  • Managing and directing website Technical Structure, Design & Aesthetics, Content, Navigation, Information Architecture, Branding/Marketing, Performance, and Functionality efforts to positively impact e-commerce efforts
  • Ability to specify technical changes to technical/development teams
  • Proficiency in Oracle or other e-commerce platforms
  • Experience with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Tableau, or similar software Experience using a CMS and an understanding of the impact on customer engagement
  • Experience with B2C or B2B e-commerce
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Strong independent decision-making, organizational, planning and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Travel
