Assistant Accounting Manager

I. Primary Function

To manage the accounting function, particularly the monthly closing of the books and records, the preparation of journal entries, financial statements and reports.The candidate must have extensive knowledge of General Ledger systems, and accounting close process.The candidate will have supervisory duties over senior and staff accountants.

II. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of the monthly accounting close.

  • Prepare and approve monthly general, standard and recurring journal entries.

  • Prepare and review internal financial statements.

  • Analyze income and expense accounts, when necessary.

  • Complete balance sheet account reconciliations / analysis.

  • Supervise senior and staff accountants.

  • Assist in the development and training of senior and staff accountants.

  • Coordinate quarterly and year-end review and audit procedures.

  • Process and record monthly payroll entries.

  • Understands and enforces company safety rules to create and maintain a safe work environment.

  • Participate in the performance and talent management process ensuring alignment with the company’s overall talent management objectives.

III. Professional Skills
  • Strong communication skills.

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work on multiple projects with varying priorities and deadlines.

  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of general ledger accounting.

  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines.

  • SAGE Fixed Asset System.


IV. Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

  • CPA license or currently enrolled to receiving certification.

  • 5+ years of accounting experience.

  • Prior supervisory experience.

  • Minimum 1-2 years’ Public Accounting experience.
