Sales Manager

Location: PLYMOUTH, MN

I.     Primary Function

In this role, you will promote and generate sales of building products. Secondary job function is to coach the Sales Consultants to assure smooth daily operations of the branch while promoting the ideals and standards of the organization.

II.    Key Responsibilities

  • Development of specific performance expectations for individual sales team
  • Develops strategies with sales staff to increase cash sales business
  • Responsible for making adjustments to display areas as needed to target identified products and support strategies to increase cash sales
  • Develops a strong focus on Customer Service sales group, utilizing a collaborative leadership style that supports the theme of high quality service
  • Strengthened the coordination, communication and collaboration between Inside Sales and Outside Sales, resulting in improved Customer Service
  • Works with both the Outside and Inside Sales groups to maintain an accurate, current estimate of upcoming business, broken down by specific products
  • Assures optimum pricing from vendors by utilizing accurate forecasts of upcoming sales
  • Maintains adequate inventory for highly desirable items at all times
  • Establishes computer pricing for products, keeping price overrides at or below the minimum specified by Regional Management
  • Monitors and provides guidance to Sales Consultants regarding Tier I product pricing
  • Endeavors to improves the branch's Gross Margin
  • Assures OHGT items are sold by developing enticing promotions to move these products
  • Supervises and directs presentation of products in the Branch Showroom in support of specified Branch market development strategies
  • Monitors Branch Showroom housekeeping standards and housekeeping of the Inside Sales area, providing coaching as required
  • Meets regularly with Inside Sales and Outside Sales functions to clearly specify anticipated upcoming needs for Residential Roofing Products
  • Negotiates with vendors (after coordinating with Branch Manager, Regional Manager and Purchasing)
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks at once while maintaining control and perspective of each
  • Must be able to learn and retain vast amounts of product information

  • Must possess math and accounting skills


IV.   Experience

  • Sales experience (in the building products industry)
  • Experience in multitasking
  • Experience in general accounting practices
  • Experience in inter-personal employee relations (reviews, goal setting, etc.)
  • Must have a valid driver license
