Senior Associate, Financial Reporting 

Herndon, VA (Washington DC) 


Reporting to the Director, SEC Reporting, the Senior Associate, Financial Reporting will provide direct support and assist in the preparation and completion of all SEC filings for the Company. In addition, this individual will be responsible for certain periodic accounting functions will also contribute to automation efforts to increase both the efficiency and effectiveness of certain accounting processes. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a solid background in technical accounting. This person is a self-motivated, highly organized, detail-oriented individual who is willing to take on all challenges and become a strong individual contributor to this rapidly growing company.

The Responsibilities Include:

  •  Assist in the preparation of all SEC filings, including Annual Reports on Form 10-K, Quarterly Reports on Form 10-Q, Form 8-K filings, Form 4 filings, and Proxy statements.
    • Manage all consolidation/disclosure files and related supporting documentation
    • Manage Active Disclosure, Beaconís financial reporting tool
  •  Provides comprehensive audit support and manages gathering of required information for both external and internal auditors
  •  Assists with SEC disclosure and technical accounting research as needed
  •  Assists in the preparation of internal and external reporting packages and presentations
  •  Analyze financial reporting processes and help identify opportunities to improve efficiency and quality of deliverables.
  •  Assists with equity accounting and equity plan administration.
  •  Ad-hoc reporting and special project assistance, as needed.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have: 

  • Minimum 4+ years of relevant Accounting and SEC reporting and accounting experience.
  • Big 4 audit experience (preferred).
  • Bachelorís degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree.      
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
  • Familiarity with a variety of financial accounting concepts, processes, and procedures.
  • Diligent organizational habits with a detail-oriented focus on producing high quality deliverables.
  • A seasoned background in project management and the ability to multi-task.
  • Problem solving acumen with an ability to see through complexity and exercise sound judgment.
  • A creative, analytical mind with a strategic focus and a willingness to help drive change.
  • Strong inter-personal skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general comfort with financial software platforms.
  • Limited travel may be required.
